Hello All!
i was refraining from making a review about Mars and about the work I have gotten from her over the years. But with some journals that have been recently posted (and others I have seen in the past) I think it is time I spoke up about my experience as well. I am not bashing her, I am not pleased with her in the least, but I am giving my story and experience.
My first commission I got from Mars was of a soft mounted wolf. I bought my wolf Shasta from Moscow Hide and Fur she was mountable and taxidermy quality. The wait time for Shasta was fairly acceptable the quality of work was not.
Initial Mount:
<da:thumb id="367646590"/>
Remount:
<da:thumb id="418228721"/>
She does strategic photography. Period. I ended up trading her to Sharpe19 who liked her and she took additional photos when she decided to sell her.
You can see that the photos Mars provided of the mount do not at all reflect the quality of work at all. Regardless this commission is long since gone, the wolf is now owned by someone else and has been dismounted.
BUT
Despite my poor experiences my first time I thought that Mars was very nice and sweet and I looked forward to commissioning her to mount my Moonlight Coyote Maya. It seemed her business grew a lot and her quality of work was much better! The Pelt was sent to her in August with a planned October completion date, then November and at the latest December so I could take her to MFF. I received her in February.
She did have some health issues going on at the time but communication was not great, I was given excuse after excuse as to why my mount was not done. At the end of it she told me of many damages I was not aware of until she was shipping the pelt. She put up many excuses and complaints when I asked her to just sent the pelt to me so I could finish it, that I wanted her to be done and I was nervous about her ever being completed. At a point she was making other peoples mounts after mine should have been completed and many missed deadlines she set for herself. She also was making fursuits when her hand was infected and I make suits, I know that if my hand was injured the way hers looked I would not be making suits. If she could make personal suits she could have worked on mounts that she owed people for years. I digress.
That being said. I would not commission her again. Strategic photography, but certainly better then my first mount.

So these are the damages the pelt had the day I got her in the mail. After fighting for months to get her. I am so happy to have gotten her back and after putting some of my own time and effort into the pelt she looks much better. I did manage to get the paste off and removed the pins, repaired the visible liner and patched the missing fur spots. She still has staples in her ears, I don't dare take them out.
Thats the mount as it really is. These are the WIPS I got. They don't really seem to match up.

In Short. The mount looks okay. The customer service was shit. I was terrified I would never get her back and I would caution people when commissioning her. I paid a lot of money for a sub par mount on a very special pelt. Had I known this is how she ran her business I would have held onto my coyote and had someone else mount her. I am not readily involved in the taxidermy community and drama but this is what happened to me. If anyone has any questions or comments feel free to comment.

Hey All!
With all the changes coming to DA and the evidently unavoidable addition of the clunky and near unusable Eclipse I am not sure how long / if I will contiue to post content on DA. I am a bit heartbroken DA had not listened its users of so many years and is going to move forward with a change many of us have spoken against. Sadly, it doesn't feel much can be done.

Brazillian Rainbow Boo Carcass Taxidermy Sale
Hello all
I am really sad to say that my Brazillian Rainbow Boa Luka has passed away today due to unknown causes. I am unsure what happened to them and I am really saddened that they have passed away. Couldn't find anything amiss in their tank.
Regardless. I am selling their body to whoever wants it asking $50. Maybe someone can make use of it. If not I will simply bury them. The body was a bit stiff and dried out (they are small and the tank is warm) and I have since frozen it.
